First, what should you expect from website building programs?

• Easy to use and understand tools for website building. I am not a computer code expert. When I started, I could barely do email. Properly instructed, I am able to make the most of e-commerce advantages.
  
  
• Unlimited web hosting bandwidth (that's tech talk for traffic). I had no idea how big a site could get until I started putting videos and so forth on my site. Website building and hosting should go hand in hand and handled by the same company.
  
  
• Education. So many places offer the $5.95 special web hosting with the most excellent customer support on the planet, heck in this part of the galaxy! What that boiled down to for me was a 2 day wait for an answer from someone who knew little about site building! So much for their tools for website building!
  

• Flexibility. I wanted to be able to add any program to my site without having to pay an arm and a leg for an "expert" from the web hoster to do it for me. Tools for website building are useless if I can't put them in myself. This allowed me to incorporate my own article marketing strategy which yields me free traffic.
  

• Tools! There are so many ways of doing business on the web that I didn't want to be kept poor paying for "extras" for website building programs.

Others offer free website building programs to help you build your own site. Places like Squidoo and Wordpress. Don't get me wrong, these places do offer a lot of free stuff, but the bottom line is that you have no control over your business.

It happened at Squidoo a while back that they decided that a certain topic was way to common on their site so they shut all the sites down that related to these topics!(weight loss) A few days warning and that was it. No arguments, no way to state your case.

It's an easy way to lose tons of hours that you spent building niche websites!

Another favorite website building programs trick is to get you to sign up for a few dollars and you are promised the world. I went that route and within days, the "extras" starting becoming evident.

They wanted an extra five dollars a month to remove their ugly banner from above my little header. The real kicker was the promise of unlimited bandwidth in their package of tools for website building. To my knowledge, the promise was kept. They can't go wrong because you don't get hardly any traffic! No traffic, no bandwidth, no problem of extra charges! Website building and hosting companies can be very slippery!

My big fear is that I will sound like one of those used car salesmen on tv with the patent leather shoes, plaid jacket and sneaky mustache (not that I have anything against salesmen).

What works really well is to have them sign up for a free newsletter that you will put out. You already know they have an interest in what your site is about because they did a search on it already.

Offer them something of good value like a quality free report for them to sign up and put out your little news letter when you say you will. What this does is not get the visitor to return to your site over and over again, but allows you to go to their email often. Good website building programs will allow you to do this easily.

Trust builds quickly and before long, they will start to buy and, often times, they will buy over and over again.

Let me start by explaining how an average internet visit goes. When you do a search on the internet, you end up with the top 10 results on your screen. How do you think they got there? Did they buy some expensive advertising package with the search engine? How can you get your site to be featured on the first screen to come up?

You cannot buy your way to the first page of the results. No matter how much money you have or which website building and hosting you have, you still have to earn your way to the top by giving visitors to your site a quality experience. This happens when you have a good set of tools for website building.
